Hello! I'm Dani Dolan, a software engineer based in Madison. I enjoy creating things that live on the internet, whether it be websites, applications, or anything in between. My goal is to always build pixel-perfect, performant experiences. Shortly after graduating from Texas A&M University, I joined the software engineering team at TDS Telecom where I work on a wide variety of interesting and meaningful projects daily.
As an intern on the software engineer at TDS Telecom, I am responsible for application design, development, testing, and problem resolution. I leveraged ArcGIS scripting and automation with Python using ArcGIS API for Python and Arcpy. I automate administrative tasks, such as creating and managing users and groups, publishing and updating items, and performing visualization and data analysis.
Things are changing so fast that tech is considered old after a few years. I continue to code every day for at least 2 to 4 hours a day. I hope to one day work for a company that challenges me to grow and make me better. Whether through challenging assignments, educational opportunities, demanding excellence or informal mentors, a job that forces me to grow beyond my current skill set will make me a better person, and it a better company.
Today, I am working as a software engineer intern with the amazing team at TDS Telecommunications, and I am getting into machine learning on my own time. I am familiar with a variety of programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, Java, HTML, CSS, and SQL, but I am always adding new skills to my repertoire. I am also eager to meet other software engineers in the area, so feel free to connect!
Even though I enjoy coding in peace, I still love to connect and meet new people.
I don't stop till I have perfected what I am working on and I am constantly asking questions along the way.
I am constantly learning new skills from wherever I can get them from. Whether it be from YouTube, Udemy, or a coworker, I love to learn.
I like to think outside the box and see things from a different perspective.
From Object-oriented design to problem solving and logical thinking, I can do it all. Including an understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computer network basics. Knowledge of tools like Git, Cloud computing concepts and platforms like AWS and editors like Pycharm, Atom, and Visual Studio Code.
Even though I am early into my career, I am passionate about my work and confident in my abilities

After graduating with a B.S in Geophysics, I continued to pursue coding and realized software engineering was the right field for me. Since then, I have continued my computer science education through open courses, coding challenges, and countless projects.
Developed an interactive graphics website using CSS libraries to create real-time animations of crystal lattice structures
Generated passwords based on user input for number of words, character count, chosen text, and leetspeak.
Seismic Date Processing with MATLAB Explores the changes of velocity gradient with depth.
Implemented JavaScript neural network library and a genetic algorithm to train an agent to play a game.
